Huge drug bust leads to five arrests

Five individuals were arrested on Monday January 6, on drug related charges, and two other subjects are facing pending charges as the result of a coordinated effort with the community and law enforcement agencies. 

Members of the general pubic forwarded information to Spencer County Sheriff’s Deputies who led an investigation along with the Indiana State Police’s All Policing Crimes Unit as well as the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office. Due to these joint efforts a search warrant was applied for and granted with the help of the Spencer County Prosecutor’s Office and Spencer County Circuit Court.

Search warrants were granted for residences at 860S N CR 550 E and 8649 N CR 550 E, Grandview. Law enforcement units arrived at the residences to execute the search warrants with assistance from Indiana State Police SWAT and K9 members.

Maria Williams Cook

Maria Williams Cook — Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of Legend Drug, Possession of Controlled Substance and Neglect of a Dependent.

John Held

John Held — Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of Legend Drug, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Neglect of a Dependent.

Tina McKeethen

Tina Mckeethen — Possession of  Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, Visiting a Common Nuisance, Possession of Legend Drug, Possession of a Syringe and Possession of  a Controlled Substance.

Nellie McLaughlin

Nellie McLaughlin — Possession of Methamphetamine w/ Firearm, Possession of Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of a Syringe, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Methamphetamine over 10 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Legend Drug.

Heath Buelich

Heath Bulich — Possession of Methamphetamine w/ Firearm, Possession of Marijuana w/ Prior, Possession of Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Possession of a Syringe, Possession of Methamphetamine over 10 grams, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Stolen Property, Resisting Law Enforcement and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Participating agencies include: Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police, Indiana Conservation Officers, Santa Claus Police Department, Spencer County EMS, Indiana Department of Child Services and the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office.

“This investigation is an example of what happens when a community stands strong against drugs. We will never rid Spencer County of the drug problem, but we will send a message to those involved in drug activity that it will not be tolerated within out communities. We will continue to welcome community support and joint law enforcement efforts,” opined Sheriff Kelli Reinke.
