Ran off road
Katie Sandage, 35, of Dale, was backing out of a driveway on Brown Street in Dale when the tires on her vehicle struck a patch of mud on the shoulder of the street, causing her 2011 Ford Taurus to slide into a ditch. Sandage was not injured in the March 4, 8:04 p.m. incident, but damage to her Taurus was estimated between $1,000-2,500.
Run-off on Fulda Shortcut
Bryan Hall, 42, of Cannelton, was traveling on Fulda Shortcut Road at approximately 2:09 a.m. on March 17 when he lost control of his 2009 Ford F250 on the wet roadway and slid off the road, striking a tree. Hall was not injured in the accident, and damage to his truck was estimated between $1,000-2,500.
Astra Whistle, 40, of Tell City, was southbound on SR 545 near Santa Claus when her 2010 Pontiac Vibe traveled off the roadway. Whistle was not injured in the March 17, 2:44 a.m. accident, but damage to her vehicle was estimated between $2,500-5,000.
Driver injured in accident
Rhiannon Campbell, 17, of Tell City, was southbound on SR 545 near Santa Claus when her 2006 Chevrolet Impala left the roadway, traveled down a ditch and struck a culvert. Her car then ramped the culvert before coming to a rest. Campbell was transported to the hospital by family members after complaining of pain in her neck. Damage to her vehicle in the March 19, 2:06 a.m. accident was estimated between $5,000-10,000.
Sideswipe on I-64
Joseph Cash, 39, of O’Fallon, Missouri, was attempting to pass a 2018 Kenworth semi on westbound I-64 near Dale when he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway, causing him to sideswipe the semi. Cash’s vehicle then ran off the roadway into the median. The driver of the semi, 52-year-old Michael Chandler of Greensville, KY, confirmed Cash’s story. Both Cash and Chandler declined medical treatment. Total damage in the March 19, 12:28 p.m. accident was estimated between $10,000-25,000.
Right-angle collision on 231 injures two
According to police, 70-year-old Linda Shockley of Chrisney failed to yield as she attempted to cross the southbound lanes of US 231, at the intersection with SR 70 near Chrisney, causing her vehicle to be struck by a southbound 2014 Honda Accord driven by 39-year-old Misty House of Owensboro, KY. The impact caused House’s vehicle to travel down an embankment, coming to a stop near a ditch. Shockley, who was not injured in the accident, told authorities she did not see any cars at the intersection and thought it was clear to cross right before the collision. She was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way with a yield sign, involving a collision. House and her passenger were both transported by Spencer County EMS to Owensboro Regional Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Damages from the March 21, 3:24 p.m. collision were estimated between $25,000-50,000.
