A little Sunday evening rain couldn’t hold back the Christmas Spirit in Richland City. This year’s Christmas in the Park still managed to fill the grounds with laughter, and the smell of sweets and treats cooking. The whole community pitched in to provide cookies, soups, hot dogs, hot chocolate and plenty more. Some of the soups were even cooked over an open fire on the park grounds, adding yet more atmosphere, and a little welcome heat. Another cook fire was set up for the roasting of marshmallows. Santa himself made an appearance, asking kids for any last-minute gift ideas and handing out small Christmas-themed stuffed animals to tide them through the month.
