Barbara Sue Gentry, 78, of Lamar, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022.
She was born in Tell City on November 28, 1943, to Lloyd and Bonnie (Bender) Stiles.
Barb was a 1962 graduate of Tell City High School. She was a bus driver for North Spencer County School Corporation for 43 years, where she was fondly referred to as “Nanny Barb” and known for giving all the kids snacks.
Barb loved to babysit and spend time with her family.
Surviving are her children, Ben Gentry, Jr. (Mary), Newburgh, Mike Gentry (Paula), Lamar and Misty Zoglman (Chad), Fulda; grandchildren, Lexi and Christina Gentry, Jordan and Lydia Gentry, Chase (Brenee), Mariah and Chance Zoglman; great-grandchildren, Sofia Stephens, Karter Craig and Cohen Zoglman; brothers, Don Stiles (Jane), Dallas, TX, Sam Stiles (Patty), Newburgh, Wayne Stiles, Tell City and a sister, LuAnn Jacob (Mike), Lamar.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ben Gentry, Sr.; grandson, Dillon Gentry; and great-grandson, Aden Stephens.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CST on Friday, November 4, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Santa Claus. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-7 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Zion Church Cemetery, Santa Claus or Riley Hospital for Children.
