Charles “Charlie” Logan Zachritz, 84, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.
Charlie was born in Evansville on March 1, 1942, to the late Charles and Eloise (Wirthwein) Zachritz.
He was a member of Mt. Zion Church in Richland, and had worked as an engineer in the heating and air industry.
In his free time, Charlie enjoyed taxidermy, wood carving, bird watching, working on guns, wood woodworking, fly fishing, and water skiing.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his nephew, John Christian Vandeveer.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Carin (Coley) Zachritz, whom he married on March 5, 1998; his children, Todd Logan Zachritz (Cori) and Brian David Zachritz; his grandchildren, Alexandria, Adryana, Zoe, and Lila; his sister, Kathleen Vandeveer; niece Marie Summers, and his beloved dog, Buddy, and his beloved dog, Buddy.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 26, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, with Pastor Jim Ahl officiating.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home of Rockport, has been entrusted with care.
