On Friday, July 15, 2022, while surrounded by family, David Allen Market, 59, peacefully passed away after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this month. He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Margaret (Koester) and Edward Market.
He leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Market) and Bill Young, older brothers, Daniel and Michael Market, two nieces, Kate and Jeremy Abshier and Kristi Young, four nephews, Eric Young, Taylor (Analise) Market, Conner Market, Kyle Market, a great-niece, Natalie Vaughan, two great-nephews, Will Young and Axel Abshier, and his dog who was his constant and faithful furry friend, Zeus.
Dave’s generous and caring heart will be deeply missed. His unique ability to walk alongside a friend or peer who was in distress was a gift to all those who experienced it. His legacy can be found in memories: the baby brother you helped raise and can still hear sniffling his way through your wedding at age 4; the brother that you taught how to play guitar and his favorite song; or the uncle that used to play and sing “Wonderful Tonight” after a Sunday family dinner.

Thank you to Life Springs Health Services, the camaraderie and sense of community you provided will not be forgotten. And, in true Midwest small town kindness, we thank Dave’s friends, neighbors and those who live along his daily walking routes; your concern and protection of him are awe-inspiring.
