Eugene “Gene” Hildenbrand, 90, of Evanston, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Gene was born December 24, 1934 in Spencer County to Edward and Pauline (Haller) Hildenbrand. A graduate of Dale High School, he served in the National Guard. Gene worked in maintenance at Holiday World for 45 years. He also loved farming on the family farm. Gene was a member of St. Boniface Parish in Fulda.
He is survived by his son, Scott (Tara) Hildenbrand of Evanston and daughter, Lynn (Johnny) Preston of Danville, KY, and four grandchildren, Jake and Lexi Preston and Taylor and Trenton Terrell.
Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Hildenbrand and a sister, Elsie Blythe.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 29 at St. Boniface Church in Fulda. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
