Helen M. Weyer, 90, of Ferdinand passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.
Helen was born in Spencer County on February 28, 1931 to Simon and Catherine (Rahman) Schum. She was united in marriage to Hugo R. Weyer on September 6, 1952 in St. Ferdinand Church. Hugo preceded her in death on September 11, 1997.
Helen was a homemaker and formerly employed at General Electric in Tell City. She was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She volunteered as a member of communion service at St. Ferdinand and formerly at the grade school cafeteria. She enjoyed bus trips with friends, playing cards, Cross stitch, and going to the casino.
Surviving are three sons, Alan (Deborah) Weyer of Ferdinand, Frank Weyer and companion Rita Daugherty of Birdseye, and Anthony (Pam) Weyer of Ferdinand; two daughters, Kathleen Ramey and companion Edward Clark of Indianapolis, and Karen (Scott) Brown of Ferdinand; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by a grandson, Garret Weyer; three sisters, Cornelia Pund, Regina Schum, and Almeda Wilmes; and one brother, Victor Schum.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Weyer will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, in St. Ferdinand Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 24, and from 7 until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
