James Paul Snyder, 71, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Linda White Hospice House.
He was born June 10, 1951, in Huntingburg, to Francis L. and Rose E. (Hildenbrand) Snyder.
James attended Dale High School and obtained an Associate degree from Lockyear Business School. He served in the U.S Army National Guard and retired from Ryder Trucking Services.
James was a member of American Legion Post 44, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, shooting matches, golf, football and his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis L. and Rose (Hildenbrand) Snyder, and his brother, Don Snyder.
James is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diana (Robinson) Snyder; his two sons, Wes A. Snyder (Stacey) of Indianapolis and Greg J. Snyder (Jill) of Evansville; his daughter, Heather A. Young (Jason); sisters, Ruth Schaefer (Jerry) and Janet Dauby (Paul); and by seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, 8 E Maple St. A graveside service will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Kapperman Post 44 Honor Guard.
