Mary Jane Haynes-Kress, 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.
Mary was born June 24, 1960 in Princeton to Rev. James C. Haynes Sr. and Juanita Madge (DeBord) Haynes.
Mary was a woman of great faith and loved to serve the Lord and was a member of Richland General Baptist Church in Richland. Mary ran her business, Helping Others Senior Care and supported many local families with her care and love. Mary loved spending time with her family and one of her greatest joys was hosting family gatherings and serving others. Mary enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and loved animals, never knowing a stray.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Martha Sue.
Mary is survived by her husband, Philip Kress; brothers, Rev. James C. Haynes Jr. (Janey), Paul David Haynes (Vicky), Timothy Wayne Haynes (Marlene); stepchildren, Amy Scott (James), Adam Kress (Kate), Ashley Tempel (Kevin), Andrew Kress (Jordan); with 12 step-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services were held Monday, July 14 at Richland General Baptist Church 4491 IN-161, Richland City. Rev. James C. Haynes Jr., Father Crispine Adongo, and Rev. James England officiated.
Burial was at Midway Cemetery Midway.
