Michael A. “Mike” LeClere, 65, of Evansville, formerly of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.
He was born March 6, 1960, in Tell City, to Thomas W. and Elaine A. (Lasher) LeClere. He was a member of Jasper High School class of 1978, and one of the initial students that formed Jr. Achievement Club. He was the owner of LeClere Lumber in Jasper.
Mike loved the great outdoors, often pausing long enough to capture the beauty of God’s creation in the sunrise and sunset on his way to and from work. He enjoyed spending time in the hills of Perry County where he farmed and raised cattle, hunting and fishing. Mike had a delightful sense of humor, loved life, people, and above all else, his family. He and Anna, his companion of 12 years, attend both St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bristow or St. John’s Catholic Church in Newburgh. Mike was a member of the Jasper Outdoor Recreation Club as well as a 4th degree member of the Ireland Knights of Columbus.
Mike is survived by his companion, Anna Haas of Evansville; his parents, Tom and Elaine LeClere of Bristow; seven children, Rachel LeClere of Jasper, Daniel LeClere of Schnellville, Adam (fiancé, Kaila Reeves) LeClere of Haysville, Rachel (Zak) Moorman of Newburgh, Adam (April) Thompson of Paduka, Kentucky, Elaine Williamson and Hank Williamson, both of Evansville; a sister, Donna (Dan) Buechler of Huntingburg; a brother, Jim (Rhonda) LeClere of Huntingburg; 11 grandchildren, Haisley, Wyatt, Jackson, Anya, Leia, Emma, Alaina, Samuel, Jocelyn, Percy and Harley; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mike LeClere will be held from 3–8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg and also one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. EDT at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bristow on Friday, August 1. Burial will follow in St. Isidore Cemetery.
K of C will hold a memorial service on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
