Combining a phenomenal shooting performance with a stingy defensive effort, Class 2A, No. 3 ranked and host South Spencer overwhelmed conference foe Mt. Vernon 79-40 to cap an undefeated PAC campaign and a near-perfect regular season.

To say it was a Senior Night the Rebels likely won’t forget may be an understatement.

“I’m very proud of all of our kids. It was a special night for all six of those seniors,” said South Spencer coach Matt Britton. “I thought Noah [Bunner] and Taylor [Harmon] were ready for their moment tonight in the starting line-up. They played well. All of our kids contributed. It was a great total team win.”

South Spencer (21-1 overall and 11-0 in the PAC) certainly did that.

“The 32 points in the third quarter where we scored on 13 out of 14 possessions was a special quarter for our six seniors to experience in their last game in this gymnasium,” said Britton. “It was great to see.”
