Robert Ray Richey II, 76, of Grandview, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023.
Bobby was born in Perry County on February 24, 1947, to Robert Ray Richey and Betty (Helm) Richey.
Bobby served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a proud veteran. He retired after 38 years of service from National Southwire Aluminum that later became Century Aluminum of Hawesville, Kentucky. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s events. Bobby was an active 4-H volunteer and enjoyed helping with his children’s band competitions.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Darlene Richey of Grandview; children, Christopher Richey and his wife, Anna of Bartlett, IL, Laura Richey Kempa and her husband, Rick of Grandview, and Robyn Thorpe and her fiancé Ryan Champion of Newburgh; grandchildren, Bradley Richey, Ryan Richey, Carlee Kempa, Noah Kempa, Finley Thorpe and Logan Champion; sister, Barbara Weiss and her husband, Don of LaCombe, LA.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 18, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Walter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Grandview, with military honors.
Visitation is from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday, December 17, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, Heart to Heart Hospice, or New Hope Cemetery in Grandview.
