GRANDVIEW – The new Grandview Boat Dock is in the river, after some assembly. The new floating structure was delivered by Superior Seawalls, Docks & Dredge early Thursday morning, and workers from the company and town officials came together to piece it together throughout the day. Councilwoman Angie Fischer expressed thanks to Ken Shourds Equipment for supplying equipment to help move the dock pieces off the truck and into the river for assembly.

Installing a new boat dock has been a high priority for the Grandview Town Council for quite a while. The board finally landed its elusive quarry in the spring, with the help of grant funding.

Fischer said the new boat dock should greatly improve safety and accessibility for boaters, fishing enthusiasts and other guests visiting the riverside park. The new dock is built for durability, allowing it to handle the Ohio River’s more tempestuous moods as well as the strain of being moved out of the water during the winter.

“It will take whatever we need it to take,” said Fischer.
