Nathan Eugene Greene, 76, of Rockport, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Hatfield on August 11, 1943, to the late Aquilla and Alice June (McFall) Greene.
He served in the United States Army and retired from Whirlpool in Evansville after 40 years of service. He enjoyed the Boy Scouts, was active as an Assistant Scout Master and was a member of the Gospel Mission Church in Rockport.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Betty Jean Greene of Rockport; children, Becky Harpenau and her husband, Steve of Rockport, Kenny Greene and his wife, April of Chrisney and John Aquilla Greene and his wife, Anna of Rockport; grandchildren, Stephanie Shourds and her husband, Nathaniel, Sabrina Jones and her husband, Jordan, Shelby Lynn Harpenau, Kaitlyn Greene, Jacob Greene and his wife, Sarah, Josiah Greene, Morgan Greene, Dillon Greene, Christina Chamness and her husband, Michael and Emma Greene; great-grandchildren, Sierra Shourds, Remington Shourds, Sophia Shourds, Madeline Jones, Savannah Jones and Kyson Harris; and siblings, Joe Greene of Rockport and Ruth Spiller of Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Wayne Greene, and grandchild, Keith Aaron Greene.
Services for Nathan Greene will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Tim Coomer and Pastor Joe Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport. Rockport American Legion Post 254 will conduct military honors.
Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday, November 11, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
