Sylvester Ray Richey, 71, of Hatfield, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at his residence surrounded by family.
Ray was born in Grandview, on December 16, 1950, to the late George B. and Rena (Painter) Richey.
Ray was a member of Rockport Church of the Nazarene and Grandview Masonic Lodge 191.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George Richey, Bob Richey and Wayne Richey; and his sister, Barbara Stonebraker.
Ray is survived by his wife, Teresa Lynn (Brock) Richey, whom he married on January 14, 1984; his children, Russell Richey (Lauraine), Stacy Richey (Arthur), Jason Beckort, Jason Richey and Jessica Barnett (Kenneth); his grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as Dude, Katelyn, Courtney, Briana, Devon, Diamond, Taryn, Caleb, Andrew, Addison, David, Jeslyn, McKenna, Iyla, Kegen and Raelynn; his great-grandchildren, Scottie and Serenity; his siblings, Sam Richey (Val), Frank Richey (Barb), Bill Richey (Karen), Kenny Richey (Linda), Bernadine Renehan (Jerry) and Margie Franklin; many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, at Rockport Church of the Nazarene, 719 N 7th St., Rockport, with Pastor Brett Cieslack officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 until 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
