Everyone is welcome to join in

Paddle Perry will be participating in the annual Ohio River Sweep on August 15. They will launch from the Cannelton boat ramp at 3 p.m. CDT.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early for instruction and to set up your boat. Anyone wanting to help collect trash along the banks of the Ohio River is welcome to join. They do have a few extra boats and paddles if someone needs one. Participants must have your own life-jacket and your own sanitizer available. A life-jacket must be worn at all times. Old shoes or boat shoes are required for this event as well. Paddle Perry will provide bags, gloves, and reach and grab sticks. A waiver must be signed before launch.

Lucas Patterson, with the Conservation Officers will be tagging along with his motor-boat to help haul the bags of trash back to the boat ramp to be picked up and disposed of properly.

Join the group for post paddle brews at the Round Up in Troy around 7 p.m. Paddle Perry will also be selling raffle tickets at the Round Up this day and have one of the boats they’re giving away set up outside the tavern. Tickets are $5/chance or 3/$10. All proceeds go back to Paddle Perry to help fund future events.

Paddle Perry collected four very heavy bags of trash on Friday, August 7 during a trip from the Tell City boat ramp to the Troy boat ramp. Four board members were in attendance.
