Southern Indiana Power has awarded grants to area emergency services and local organizations through its Operation Round Up program. The power cooperative distributed $13,560 in its latest round of grant awards, and a total of $547,323 since the inception of Operation Round Up.
FIRE DEPARTMENTS & EMERGENCY SERVICES
• Central Perry Volunteer Fire Department received $1,800 (asked for $3,357.95). This is to purchase a trash pump.
COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMS
• Evanston Civic Association received $2,000 (asked for $4,000). This is to replace tables and chairs. (No photo available.)
• Fulda Sportsman Club received $5,000 (asked for $11,895). That grant will go toward replacing an inefficient HVAC system from 1969.
• Widow’s Barrel Food Pantry received $1,800 to purchase a new refrigerator to store items that are given to those in need.
• Epsilon Omega Chapter of Tri Kappa, Inc. received $960 to cover the cost of 50 Girl Scout shirts for their New York City trip.
• Nancy Hanks Elementary (Technology Teacher) received $2,000 to purchase Circuit Playgrounds for students to learn more about electronics and programming.
