Barbara Swaney Mullen, 68, of Grandview passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at her home.
She was born December 28, 1952, in New Orleans, LA to the late Bill and Barbara Swaney. She married Tom Mullen on August 21, 1987. She was employed for many years at Commercial Filters and Kimball International.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved playing pool and darts and was a state referee.
Surviving are her husband, Tom; children, Nellie “Rene” (Heath) McLaughlin of Gentryville, Maria (John) Cook of Grandview, Tom (Karla) Mullen, Jr. of Richland, and Gina (Don) Mullen of Chrisney; grandchildren, Matthew Murray, Derrick Smith, Kyleigh Cooper, Tommyel Williams, Autumn Smith, Abigayle Mullen, Ellie Williams, Brooke Staats, Ebie Christmas, Lily Williams and Kyra Mullen; great-grandchildren, Rylinn and Rayden Birk; siblings, Debra (Gary) McNeill and Clara (Billy) Leonard, both of McLeansville, NC, Mary Ann (Wayne) Barnes and Billy (Frankie) Swaney, both of Reidsville, NC, Richard “Ricky” (Debbie) Swaney of Greensboro, NC, Dewayne “Skipper” (Alison) Swaney of Richmond, VA, and Lydia Vuncannon of Reidsville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Isabella “Izzy” Christmas, and a brother-in-law, Buzz Vuncannon.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with burial in Troy City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to7 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
