Bert Lee Vance, 60, of Rockport, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021.
He was born in Tell City, on April 12, 1960, to Robert “Bob” and Mary Lee (Winchell) Vance.
Bert enjoyed spending time with his family, watching NASCAR and football, coin collecting and telling dad jokes. He was a die hard Star Trek fan, member of the Dr. Demento fan club, and a fan of the Miami Dolphins. He tuned in daily to PowerRock 93.9 to rock out to his favorite bands and for the joke of the day. Bert always had his nose in a book, usually a Stephen King or Tom Clancy novel. His daughter and granddaughters were the light in his eyes. He was a member of A.A. and Celebrate Recovery and most recently celebrated 10 years in recovery.
Bert is survived by his daughter, Tasha (Brian) Miller; stepson, Rick (Jenny) Reisz; two brothers, Joe (Andie) Vance and John Vance; sister, Gina (Johnny) Hays; granddaughters Chyenne, Brylee, Alysa, and Alannah; nephew, Elijah; and niece, Lily.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Vance, and his mother, Mary Lee (Winchell) Vance.
A memorial service and celebration of Bert’s life for family and friends will be held at a later date this spring.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home of Rockport has been entrusted with care.
