Betty Jean (Hedrick) Greene, 76, of Rockport was born on January 20, 1947, to Kenneth T. and Dorothy Pearl (Lester) Hedrick, and passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Nathan Greene; her son, Tommy Wayne Greene; and her father, Kenneth Hedrick.
She is survived by her mother, Pearl Hedrick; her sister, Peg Carpenter and her husband, Joe; her children, Becky and Steve Harpenau, Kenny and April Greene, and John and Anna Greene; her grandchildren, Stephanie and Nathaniel Shourds, Sabrina and Jordan Jones, Shelby Harpenau and her fiancé, Mason Hammers, Kaitlyn and August Greene, Jacob and Freja Greene, Josiah and Linzee Green, Morgan and Kam Harris, Dillon Greene and his fiancé, Savanah Yarber, Christina and Michael Chamness, and Emma Greene; her great-grandchildren, Sierra Shourds, Remington Shourds, Sophia Shourds, Madeline Jones, Savannah Jones, Kaid Chamness, Oatley Greene, Kyson Harris, Kyrie Harris, Kingsley Harris, Baydyn Rugglero, Athena Rugglero, and Holden Rugglero; her special grandkids, Jackson Carpenter and Summer Carpenter.
Jean taught Head Start for 20 years and her family was her life. She loved to quilt with her sister and mother, as well as scrapbook and other crafts. As an amazing caregiver, she gave to others before herself. She is already greatly missed.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday, October 30, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with Pastor Tim Coomer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
