Carolyn Matilda Sophia Kamman, 97, of Zoar, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.
She was born October 27, 1922, in Holland, to Edwin and Ruth (Kahle) Meyer. She married Irvin H. Kamman on December 25, 1940, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland.
A graduate of Holland High School, she retired as a nurse’s aid from the Huntingburg Convalescent Center. She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church, Zoar United Methodist Women, and was an avid quilter.
Surviving are two sons, Rev. Joe (Phyllis) Kamman of Santa Claus and John (Jackie) Kamman of Huntingburg; two daughters, Judith (Bob) Heilman of Santa Claus and Janet Dunn of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin H. Kamman, who died on March 26, 1999; her parents; one brother, Glenn Meyer; two sisters, Geneva Ring and Janet Norris; one son-in-law, Michael Dunn; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services for Carolyn Kamman were held Tuesday, January 21, at Zoar United Methodist Church in Zoar, with burial following in the Zoar Cemetery. Rev. Roy Carpenter officiated at the service.
