Charles “Charlie” Harold Higginbottom, 81, of Rockport, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at The Waters of Rockport in Rockport.
Charlie was born in Evansville on July 8, 1942, to William and Josephine (Feulner) Higginbottom.
Charlie had been a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Rockport since 1966, becoming a member when he and wife, Doris, were married. He was a computer repairman at ALCOA, retiring in 2002 after 36 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, William Kenneth Higginbottom.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris (Seib) Higginbottom; his children, Matthew Higginbottom, Ron Higginbottom and his wife, Erica, Lori Owens and her husband, Alvin and Lisa Velotta and her husband, Phillip; his grandchildren, Alex Nelson, Chase Nelson and his wife, Leah, Brooke Wilson, Johnathan Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Luke Higginbottom and Jenna Higginbottom; his great-granddaughters, Nia Wilson and Brooklynn Nelson; and his brother, Virgil Joe Higginbottom.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 547 Elm St., Rockport. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport and from 9 until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
