Charmaine Jerger, 68, of Eureka, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
Charmaine was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on March 9, 1955, to Robert Lee and Ruth Mae (Lacer) Wilkinson.
Charmaine was a woman of many talents and dabbled in several professions in her life. She started work at the young age of 13, at the June Fulks General Store in Eureka. Some of her many different jobs included a homemaker, a maid at the 231 Truck Stop, a mechanic, a waitress, a bartender, and ending with working at the egg factory. She even got to drive a pace car to the Indianapolis 500.
Charmaine was an animal enthusiast; taking care of her many cats was her passion. She even trained a bumblebee. She adored her family, rock and roll music, watching movies, and fried chicken. She was tiny but loud, and she made a lasting impression on everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Scott Jerger and Michael Burch; three brothers, Parvin Lee, Charles Vernon and Leeland (Nub); four sisters, Mary Louise, Bonnie Jean and baby Caroline and Laverne.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Scarbrough (Dave), Charlotte Masterson, Tanya Merkel, and Jade Jerger (Lelah); her sisters, Roxane (Marion) and LaFonda Fay; her grandchildren, Jessica, Emily (Kyle), Thomas (Emily), Shawna (Zack), Hobert, Quentin, Scott, Josie, and Jaelah; great-grandchildren Noah, Oliver, Everly and Saylor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a gathering in honor of Charmaine soon.
Charmaine would want us all to continue to rock out, so we are honoring her wishes by wearing metal/rock band shirts for the service.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home of Rockport has been entrusted with care.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with medical expenses.
