Daniel L. Lautner, 65, of Evanston, passed away Friday, May 12, 2023, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born on September 18, 1957, to Rudolph L. and Clara (Uebelhack) Lautner in Tell City. Daniel was a 1975 graduate of Heritage Hills High School and a 1979 graduate of Purdue University, earning a degree in agriculture. He married Theresa Childress on August 9, 1980.
Daniel was a farmer but also worked at Mulzer Crushed Stone, Leibering Tree Planting, Waninger Logging, Santa Claus Water Dept. and Christmas Lake Properties Association. Daniel was a member of the IVFA and Indiana Farm Bureau Association. He enjoyed sports, especially Purdue basketball and loved his animals and his family.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 43 years Theresa; his siblings, Donna Meunier (Rich) of Floyds Knobs and David Lautner of Evanston. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Rudolph L. and (Clara Uebelhack) Lautner and his father-in-law, Robert Childress, Sr.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at St. John Lutheran Church in Evanston with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Steve Shank will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 15, followed by an IVFA service at 7 p.m., and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, at St. John Lutheran Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center at Jasper Memorial Hospital, New Boston Volunteer Fire Dept., or the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery.
