Daniel “Danny” Richard Moesner passed away at his home in rural Dale on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the age of 71.
He was born to Richard and Evelyn Moesner on August 26, 1952. He was a 1970 graduate of Dale High School and a graduate of Purdue University in Agriculture. He lived his life as a farmer on his family farm, R.E.D.D. Moesner Farms. An accident on May 10, 1991 resulted in quadriplegia for him, but he defied all odds and was able to continue to farm for many years after. He had incredible faith and a very strong will to live for all of his days after the accident.
Danny was a devoted member of Christ Community Church of Dale (formerly named Dale United Methodist Church). He was very passionate about his family and farming. Danny commented frequently that his family, especially his children and grandchildren, fueled him to overcome the many obstacles he faced as a result of his accident. He was very fond of Allis Chalmers tractors and enjoyed talking with others about his love of farming.
Danny is survived by his caring wife, Karen Moesner; son Jeremy (Diann) Moesner and their children Alex, Abe and Allis; daughter Paula (Matt) McEvilly and their children Hunter and Jackson; son Jake (Kristin) Moesner and their children Kinze and Dillon; and step-daughter Nicole (Kevin) Stevenson and their children Izzy, Hudson, and Carly; brother David (Cheryl) Moesner; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Evelyn Moesner.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, March 29, at Christ Community Church of Dale with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitors may call on Thursday, March 28, from 3 until 7 p.m. also at Christ Community Church of Dale. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.
