Dawn M. Mullen, 52, St. Anthony

Dawn Marie (James) Mullen, 52, of St. Anthony passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, July 19, 2024 at her home. 

Dawn was born on July 4, 1972 in Tell City to Nolan and Betty (Miller) James. She was united in marriage with Michael Mullen on August 6, 1994 in St. Anthony of Padua Church in St. Anthony Church. 

Dawn was a certified nursing assistant at Northwood Good Samaritan in Jasper and at The Sisters Of St. Benedict Monastery in Ferdinand. She was also a babysitter for many years and was affectionately known as Mimi. 

Dawn was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Church, and St. Anthony Conservation Club. She enjoyed being with family and friends especially her grandchildren and her babysitting kids. She enjoyed going to races at Salem with Mike and friends. 

Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Mike Mullen; one daughter, Brooke (Cory) Ingram of Holland; two grandchildren Grant and Warner Ingram; her mother and father, Nolan and Betty James of Mount Pleasant; siblings, Chris (Trina) James of Ferdinand, Diane (Brian) Sturgeon of Eckerty, Anita (Pat) Borden of Birdseye, and Brian (Caryn) James of Branchville. 

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Dorotha and Gabe Miller, her paternal grandparents, Clarice and Ivan James, and her father-in-law, Tom Mullen.

A mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday July 23, in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Visitation was be Monday, July 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand, and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
