Dennis (Mike) Lee Keown, 70, of Richland, formerly of Evansville and Arlington, Texas passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at his home.
Dennis was born on March 29, 1953 to William Charles and Lois Keown.
Dennis was an accomplished registered nurse who rose through the ranks of the healthcare system before finally finding his true passion as a hospital director. He was a brilliant individual who sported the nickname “Dennis Britannica” due to his wealth of knowledge about medicine. Dennis loved to take his son fishing and talk about sports. He passed his love of sports on to his only son. The happiest times in Dennis’ life were spending time with his son just watching a ball game.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, William Charles and Anna Lois, and brothers Patrick Keown, John Keown and Timothy Keown.
Survivors include his brothers, William “Joe” Keown and his wife, Ruth Ann, James “Bill” Keown and his wife, Vickie; his sisters, Mary Gerteisen and her husband, Jordan; and Linda Canary; his son, Nicholas (Nick) Lee Keown and his wife, Lyndsay; grandchildren, Maddox and Milo; aunt, Alma Reinitz; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, April 30, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville at a later date.
