Doris Blowers, 85, of Gentryville, died Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at St. Charles Healthcare Campus.
She was born February 1, 1934, in Gentryville, to Otto and Esther (Hicks) Oskins. She graduated from Gentryville High School and worked at Wedeking’s Store in Dale and later retired from the USPS. A lifetime member of Gentryville United Methodist Church, she and her husband were the Caretakers of Garden of Memory Cemetery for many years.Â
She enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Blowers; grandchildren, Shannon (John) Bender and Tiffany and Cole Blowers; great-grandchildren, Shawn and Sarah Bender and Addaley Moseley; and two brothers, Jim (Fern) Oskins and Richard (Gail) Oskins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. (Bob) Blowers; two sons, Frank and Rob Blowers; a brother in infancy; and sisters, Helen Bolton and Margaret Griepenstroh.
Funeral services for Doris Blowers are planned for Monday, February 3, at 1 p.m., with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time at Gentryville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Gentryville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Garden of Memory Cemetery.
