The Dubois County Museum will reopen on Sunday, June 14 with hours from 1-4 p.m.
The museum will follow COVID 19 guidelines for safe distancing and recommends visitors don face masks. With 50,000 square feet of exhibit space available it should not be difficult for visitors to spread out.
Programs are again being scheduled at the museum.
A special grand opening for the ATHENA Award Exhibit is set for Thursday, June 18, at 5 p.m.
Nifty Nights-Free Night at the Museum will resume on Thursday, June 25. Nifty Nights are free evenings at the museum which are open to the public. On June 25, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. the theme will be Bugs, Butterflies and Fish. Youngsters are invited in for Storytime at 6 p.m. (the previously scheduled Storytime on Saturday, June 13, is canceled) with crafts and activities planned. Joe “Swampy” Schoenbachler and Friends will be teaching how to tie a fly fishing fly beginning at 6 p.m.
Swampy and his Friends return on Saturday, June 27, for two more sessions of learning to tie a fly at 10:30 a.m. and at 1 p.m.

Saturday, July 11: Storytime at the Museum sponsored by the Optimist Club of Jasper at 10:30 a.m. The theme is Farm. Stories, crafts and activities are planned for young visitors.
Thursday, July 23: Nifty Night-Free Night at the Museum, 5:30-8 p.m. Melissa Gentry will speak on Women’s Suffrage at 6 p.m. The topic of her talk is “Votes for Women, From Seneca Falls to Seymour and South Bend: Mapping Indiana’s Suffrage History”. This program is sponsored by Jasper Public Library and the Dubois County Museum.
Saturday, July 25 at 1 p.m.: The Museum welcomes former Indiana Poet Laureate and county native Norb Kraft for a reading from his new book of poetry, Southwest by Midwest.
The Museum will be closed on Saturday, July 4 for Independence Day.
