Dubois County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident last Friday that occurred on SR 162 between Countrywood Estates and CR 350 S, approximately three miles south of Jasper. According to the report, 25-year-old Nicholas Schepers of Indianapolis, was northbound on SR 162 when he crossed the centerline and left the roadway before traveling down an embankment. Both Schepers and his passenger, 83-year-old Paul Knies of Jasper, were transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper by ambulance. The St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department and Memorial EMS assisted at the scene. The incident is still under investigation.

Arrested on drug charges

At 12:42 a.m. last Wednesday, April 7, Jasper Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of US 231 and 12th Avenue in reference to a vehicle disregarding a traffic control device and driving left of center. Upon investigation, the driver, identified as 50-year-old Linda Ralph of Owensboro, KY, granted consent to search her 1995 Pontiac Firebird, during which officers located methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Ralph was then taken to the Dubois County Security Center on charges of possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, class C misdemeanor.
