Grain bin fire
At 9:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, firefighters were called to Francis Lindauer and Sons, 9331 South Club Road, to a possible grain bin fire. Arriving units found a fire under the floor of the grain bin, which had a trap door they could access. They found that there had been a fire and it was smoldering. Firefighters saturated the area with water and foam. Five trucks and 22 personnel remained on scene for a little over an hour, assisted by the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.

Vehicle fire leads to arrest
At 8:44 p.m. Friday, November 6, dispatch received a report of a vehicle fire at the intersection of CR 400W and Division Road. The fire was determined to be a mechanical issue, but the driver, Gabriel Heredia Ramos, 35, of Jasper was found to be intoxicated. After failing field sobriety tests, Ramos refused a chemical test, even after a warrant for a blood test was issued. He was subsequently charged with OWI and obstruction of justice and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center. The Jasper Fire Department, Memorial EMS and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
Otwell man arrested for voyeurism, public intoxication
At 9:56 p.m. Thursday, November 5, officers received a complaint of a man looking into a woman’s window at Walnut and Darry streets in Jasper. They were initially unable to locate the man. The same woman called again at 10:50 p.m. and, again, police could not locate the subject, but remained in the area. At 12:37 a.m on Friday, November 6, she called again and they took Michael D. Webb, 40, of Otwell into custody. He was preliminarily charged with voyeurism, a level 6 felony, and public intoxication, a class B misdemeanor. Webb was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
Domestic battery
At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, November 7, police were called to a domestic disturbance at 14th and Dewey streets in Jasper. A woman had allegedly been battered and a man fled the residence, but was detained at 14th and Vine streets. He resisted arrest and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department was called to assist. Identified as Devonte J. Chatman, 29, he was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary charges of domestic battery and battery against a public official, level 6 felonies, resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana, class A misdemeanors, and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
OWI
Police stopped a vehicle for having no tail lights at 11:10 p.m. Saturday, November 7, at 3rd Avenue and Hopf Avenue in Jasper. The driver, Noah Seibert, 22, of failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Memorial Hospital, where it was determined his BAC was 0.127%. Seibert was subsequently charged with operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated with a BAC over 0.08%, both class C misdemeanors. He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
