Driver injured in intersection collision
Huntingburg Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision with injuries on SR 64 at Styline Drive last Thursday morning, October 29. According to police, David Porter was traveling eastbound on SR 64 while Nathaniel Parks was westbound; when both drivers came to the Styline Drive intersection, Porter turned north, crossing the westbound lane and causing Parks to strike the passenger side of his vehicle. The impact pushed Porter’s Mustang 50 yards west of the intersection, causing Parks’ vehicle to slide over the embankment and flip onto its side. Porter complained of neck and rib pain and was transported by EMS to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Parks was uninjured. Total damage to Parks’ 2004 Chevrolet was estimated at $20,000, while Porter’s 2007 Mustang sustained approximately $5,000. Memorial EMS and Huntingburg Fire Department assisted at the scene.

One driver cited, other injured
Allison Englert of Ferdinand was westbound, traveling through the intersection of US 231 and SR 162, when her 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee was struck by a southbound 2008 Jeep Wrangler driven by Katelyn Clements of Washington. It was determined that Clements ran a red light; she was cited for disregarding a traffic light. Englert was transported by EMS to the hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the October 27, 7:30 a.m. crash. Clements complained of pain but refused medical transport. Both vehicles were totaled.
Domestic battery arrest
At approximately 11:30 p.m. last Thursday night, Jasper Police responded to 1407 Dewey Street in reference to a physical domestic disturbance. After investigating, officers determined 35-year-old Amanda Jones of that address had battered her fiancé. Jones was arrested for domestic battery and lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
