Light pole destroyed in backing accident

Evann Meux, 32, of Evansville, was attempting to turn around in the CVS parking lot when he struck an antique style light pole owned by CVS. Meux was operating a 2013 International semi-tractor and trailer, owned by Walts Leasing out of Evansville. The semi sustained approximately $500 in damage to the passenger side rear in the accident, while the light pole sustained between $3,000-4,000 and was completely destroyed. No traffic citations were issued, and Meux was not injured in the October 12, 9:50 p.m. accident.

OWI arrest

At approximately 6:41 p.m. last Wednesday, October 14, officers were dispatched to Rally’s in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. Upon arriving, officers determined 32-year-old Jami Stout of Jasper was impaired. After failing a field sobriety test, Stout was transported to Memorial Hospital, where a chemical test resulted in Stout testing positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine, and benzodiazepine. She was subsequently charged with Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance or its Metabolite in the Blood- Endangering a Minor (level 6 felony); Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (class C misdemeanor); and Operating a Vehicle with a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance or its Metabolite in the Blood- First Offense (class C misdemeanor). She was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
