OWI arrest
At approximately 7:45 p.m. last Tuesday, October 20, officers with the Jasper Police Department were called to a one-person vehicular rollover accident at the intersection of South Truman and 5th Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a 2003 Chevy Silverado flipped onto its drivers side and the driver, 24-year-old Trey Collon of Jasper, standing next to it. Collon was transported to Memorial Hospital by EMS to be evaluated for injuries but while on scene allegedly admitted to drinking and driving. He submitted to a chemical test, which showed his blood alcohol content to be 0.279. After being and released from the hospital, Collon was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center on charges of OWI with a prior conviction (level 6 felony), OWI with a BAC of 0.15 or more (class A misdemeanor), OWI (class C misdemeanor), and operating a vehicle with an open alcoholic beverage container (an infraction). Damage to his Silverado was estimated at around $6,000.
