Edward S. Hoffman passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2024, his 89th birthday.
He was born near Bristow on November 16, 1935, the son of William “Bill” and Eleanora (Schaefer) Hoffman. Ed was united in marriage with Dorothy Holman on August 24, 1957, at St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Ed retired from Abbey Press in St. Meinrad, where he was a supervisor. He enjoyed carpentry, wine making, and quilting.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Hoffman; children, Ron and Jim Hoffman, Vicky Hagan (David), Jane Schenk (Scott) and Jean Robinson (Charlie); brothers, Eugene and Bill Hoffman; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Kenny Hoffman, daughter-in-law, Sally Mak Hoffman and grandson, Zachary Robinson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Friday, November 22, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
