Eugene L. Ubelhor, 76, of St. Meinrad passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Eugene was born February 6, 1946 in Uniontown to Louis and Susanna (Denning) Ubelhor. He was united in marriage with Karen Ubelhor on May 1, 1971, in Saint Martin Of Tours Church in Siberia.
Eugene retired as a heavy equipment operator and coal miner at Triad Mining. His memberships included St. Meinrad parish, St. Meinrad American Legion Post 366 and the Ferdinand Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed hunting, four wheeling and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Ubelhor; one daughter, Jenna Greulich of Santa Claus; two sons, Brad (Beth) Ubelhor of Evanston and Adam (Rachel) Ubelhor of Santa Claus; five grandchildren, Trevor Ubelhor, Trey Ubelhor, Madelyn Greulich, Wyatt Greulich and Easton Greulich; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Ubelhor and Weston Arnold.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther Faulkenberg, Wyoma Robinson, Mary Ann May and Laverne Beckman, and one brother, Kenneth Ubelhor.
A mass of Christian burial was held at 10 a.m. CDT on Friday, July 29, in St. Meinrad Church. Burial with military graveside rites by St. Meinrad Legion Post 366 followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, July 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. CDT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Visitation was held on Friday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the church.
