Food pantries in Spencer County are preparing for the holiday season. Things are getting pretty busy already.
The Christian Resource Center is located at 499 Jefferson Street in Rockport. The center’s food pantry has a new phone number for those looking to drop off supplies or request support, 812-660-5026. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The North Spencer Community Action Center, located at 5 N. Washington Street in Dale, also has a food pantry. Hours for the food pantry and thrift store are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The center is also open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The thrift store has Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., but no food pantry during that time.
