Franklin Earl Caskey, 95, passed away on Oct. 13 at The Springs in Louisville, KY.

Frank was born in Princeton on April 12, 1928 to Glenn and Thelma (Harvey) Caskey. He graduated from Princeton High School, Purdue University and the University of Illinois where he earned a PhD in chemical engineering. Upon graduation, Frank worked for Standard Oil Co. before returning to Indiana where he joined with his father-in-law, Louis Hoople, in his business, Hoople Sausage Co. which has evolved to become Hoople Country Kitchens today. Frank was actively involved in the business until 2010.

Frank loved to travel, water and snow ski and a good steak. He earned his pilot’s license at the age of 66, by far the oldest person his instructor had ever trained.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Betty (Hoople) Caskey. He is survived by his daughter, Barbie Turner and her husband, Steve Turner; sons Jim Caskey and his wife Laurel of Austin, TX and David Caskey and his wife Denise of Newburgh; nine grandchildren, Matt Turner, Staci Cummins and Blake Turner, Spencer and Slater Caskey, Marc, Jeff and Eric Caskey plus 14 great-grandchildren. Frank was a wonderful man and mentor and will forever be missed.

Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
