Fumiko (Komatsu) Anders, 92, of Rockport, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Century Assisted Living in Carbondale, Illinois.
Fumiko was born in Japan on February 12, 1929.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Owensboro Quilters Guild.
Fumiko enjoyed sewing, making alterations and quilting. She was a hands-on mother and grandmother.
Fumiko was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William “Bill” Anders; her daughter, Phyllis Plunkett; and her son, William Anders II.
She is survived by her son, James M. Anders and his wife, Meredi; her daughter, Kathryn Anders; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Courtney, Timothy, Jaime, Jonathan, Whitney and Jordan; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services are 12 p.m., Monday, August 9, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Rockport, with Pastor Jill Kaetzel officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport has been entrusted with care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Coffee Group or Sunday School program.
