Gail Jean Stamps, 71, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.

Gail was born in Eureka on May 30, 1952, to the late Dora (Hanley) and Robert Parm.

Gail was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where she was part of the Senior Usher Board, Mass Choir, Women’s Missionary Society, and Kitchen Committee.

Many knew Gail from her cooking. She knew no stranger and she loved to feed people. She was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and aunt. She was the best grandmother a person could have. She loved her family, friends, and church family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Roscoe Parm, Philip Parm, Bobbie Jo Parm, Vernita Kay Bridges, Charles “Buddy” Parm, Vergie Franklin and Zuetta Boyd; her mother-in-law, Iola Carter; and her granddaughter, Leah D’Von Butts.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Melvin Stamps; her children, Layson Parm, John Brooks (Schmia), Margo Otis (Robert), Richard Coker, and Nakayla Crowe; 19 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Sina Evans, and Bill Parm.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, September 16, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 20 S. Elm St., Henderson, KY 42420 with Pastor Robert Esters officiating. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
