Georgia Lee Banks, 87, of Grandview, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport.
Georgia was born on July 29, 1934 in Chrisney, to Alfred and Carrye (Maas) Tabelman.
A 1952 graduate of Chrisney High School, she started her career at Chrisney State Bank and later Dale State Bank Grandview Branch. Georgia and her husband, Harold owned and operated Grandview Aluminum where she was the Secretary-Treasurer from 1965 to the present day.
She was an active member of Grandview United Methodist Church, Grandview Civic Association, Order of the Eastern Star, South Spencer Scholarship Committee, Tri Kappa, Spencer County Historical Society and Santa Claus America Legion Post 242 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Janet Lloyd, and brother, J.P. Chrisney.
Georgia is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold Banks; children, Leslie Banks and his wife, Gay, Brett Banks and his wife, Karen and Christa Jones and her husband, Henry; grandchildren, Brandon Banks, Lauren Carpenter and her husband, Ben, Jennah Webb and her husband, Mac, Brad Banks, Bryant Banks, Lily Jones and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews.
Services for Georgia Banks will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 11, at Grandview United Methodist Church in Grandview, with Pastor Tan Mayhall officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
Visitation from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, and from 10 until 11 a.m. Thursday at the church in Grandview.
