Harold Douglas West, 78, of Rockport, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.
Doug was born in Sturgis, Kentucky, on August 2, 1942, to the late Willie Thomas West and Thelma Marie (Hedgepath) West.
He loved hunting and fishing, and was a member of the Bass Club. He also enjoyed golfing and UK basketball. He retired from ALCOA after 34 years of service.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sharon West of Rockport; his daughter, Tonya White, and her husband, Chuck, of Hatfield; his son, James West, and his wife, Nancy Jean, of New Enterprise, PA; his grandchildren, Missy Woodcock, Jennifer Texas and her husband, Richard, Crystal Cox, Jeanie Kay Ferreira and her husband, Sven, James Douglas West, and Ethan West; his great-grandchildren, Madison Texas, Keife Texas, E.J. Powell, Peyton Powell, and Austin St. Pierre; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Tommy West, Robert West, James West, and Mary Lue Courtney.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 22, at Hatfield Bethel Church in Hatfield, with Pastor Walter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in James Parker Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m., Friday, May 21, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, and 12 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the church.
