David Turnham’s K-Kid Organization have come up with a big addition to the community.

In spring of 2022, the idea for the Hygiene House came from Kurt Willard, Kiwanis and community representaive and staff who recognized that there were students and families that were in need of free hygiene products. K-Kids members drew up sketches of the idea and made a proposal to the North Spencer County School Board members this past winter.

From there, the Heritage Hills Ag Department graciously agreed to build the Hygiene House and surprised them with their donation of time, talents and materials. Art teacher, Corie Eckerle and Head Maintenance Supervisor, Jim Schaefer shared their gifts of adding letters, a post, and installation of the house near Dunn Street. It is easily accessible to parents and guardians who pick up and drop off students in the car ride circle, as well as community members in need.
