Jack Lynch Sheridan, 88, of Chandler, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.
Jack was born in St. Francisville, Illinois on June 22, 1934, to John and Mildred (Hunt) Lynch. Jack was later adopted by his parents, Elbert and Mabel Sheridan who raised him from a child to adulthood.
Jack was a 1954 graduate of St. Francisville High School prior to joining the United States Air Force. In his adult working life, Jack was a millwright and an engineer. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force and part of the 42nd Bomb Wing of Loring Air Force Base in Maine from 1954-1958. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially as their softball coach. He loved woodworking, camping, and was active in several civic clubs most recently in the Grandview area.
Jack was also a 50-year member of Euclid Masonic Lodge F&AM #573 in Terre Haute. He was a lifelong Democrat and a member of the Spencer County American Legion.
Jack married the love of his life, Cathy E. Sheridan, on September 11, 1994.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Cathy E. Sheridan; daughters, Bethann Kupferer (John) and Teressa Stump (Dwayne); son, Jack Sheridan, Jr. (Becky); children of 28 years, daughter, Amy Hobbs (David), son, Andy Hoffman (Jaline); grandchildren, Jason and Rhiannon Kupferer, Zachary and Wendy Stump, Samantha Degenhardt, Kim Oliver, DJ and Kaycee Stump, Annie Sheridan, Caden Sheridan, Caty and Adam Hayes, Amanda and James Miller, and Corryn and Joshua Boehman; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sunday, September 18, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Kris Brown officiating. Burial followed in Midway Cemetery.
