James (Jim) Weatherholt, 82, of Grandview, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
Jim was born in Spencer County on March 30, 1939, to the late Marie Antionnette (Minnett) and James (Allen) Weatherholt.
Jim was an avid horse puller for many years. He also enjoyed spending his time hunting rabbits and logging timber. Jim was a loving soul who never met a stranger. He always enjoyed a cup of hot coffee and catching up with friends and family. He devoted his life to taking care of those dear to him and never missed a chance to crack a joke.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings EK Weatherholt, Nina Foertsch, Jess Weatherholt, Linda Turner, Walter Weatherholt, Joe Lynn Weatherholt and half-brother’s Bobby and Don Hurst.
Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jo (Brown) Weatherholt of Grandview; children Marty Weatherholt and Lisa Bettag and her husband Darin, all of Grandview; grandchildren, Heath Weatherholt, Hanna Bettag and Caleb Bettag (Emma); siblings, Betty Nix, Tommy Weatherholt (Nancy), Paul Weatherholt and Diane Vaughn; brother-in-law Harold Brown, sister-in-law Sharon Stevens (James); many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many, many friends.
Services were held Monday, September 6, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Ron Marcoux officiating. Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery in Grandview.
