Thelma Jane Gasaway, 86, of Chrisney, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Jane was born on October 24, 1936, in Spencer County, to David A. and Lorene I. (Sandage) Chandler.
Jane was a member of Landmark Bible Church in Rockport. She had been active in Spencer County R.E.A.C.T., the Home Economics Club, and had been a Girl Scout leader. She was also very active in the Chrisney Community.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Allen E. Gasaway, and her siblings, David Chandler, Edna Meredith, and Mary Ann Throop.
Jane is survived by her children, Vicki Freeman and her husband, Rick, of Owensboro, KY and Phylis Mueller of Tyler, TX; her grandchildren, Matthew Roberson and his wife, Charity, Chris Freeman and his wife, Angela, Julia Marvel and her husband, Billy, Sara Brown and her husband, Derek and Hannah Zimmerman; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; her sister, Dorothy Higdon and her husband, Bugs; her sisters-in-law, Ann Schoolcraft and her husband, Jarvis and Bonnie Gasaway.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, Youngblood Chapel, 36 E Market Street, Chrisney, with Pastor Gary Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chrisney.
Visitation is 4 until 8 p.m., Friday, March 3, and from 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Chrisney.
