Jesse Lee Rininger, 67, of Rockport, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky.
He was born in Tell City, on November 5, 1954, to the late Joe and Mary (McDaniel) Rininger.

Jesse was a lifetime Spencer County native. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing pool, going to the horse races at Ellis Park, and hanging out with his many friends. Later in life, he loved watching movies with his cat, Cami, and eating out, especially for breakfast.

Jesse joined the Navy when he was 17 and served on several ships, notably on the Intrepid from 1972-1975. After returning from the service, he worked for his dad, Joe, hauling cattle and pigs. That led to joining the Teamsters Union, where he moved material from Chicago to Toyota and to AK Steel, helping to build the new US 231, and many jobs in between. Sadly, his health caused him to quit his job. For the last 11 years of his life, he had kidney failure and went to Davita in Newburgh for his treatments.

Jesse is survived by his daughters, Jeanne Sandage and her husband, Jeff, and Laura Rininger; his grandchildren, Jesse, Sam and Taylor; his step-grandchildren, Meagan and Kyle; three great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dan and wife, LaVon (Lindauer) Rininger.

Jesse, by his wishes, is being cremated. Due to COVID, a memorial celebration of life will be held at a later time.
