Johanna Sue Wangler Libbert, of Richland, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

Born June 20,1966 to George (Dale) and Betty (Jane) Wangler, Johanna was a graduate of South Spencer High School. She attended college and became a registered respiratory therapist, working for Ford Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky and Jasper Memorial Hospital for many years as a respiratory therapist. 

Johanna was proceeded in death by her grandparents, George and Emma Wangler and Herb and Martha Wilhelmus, her mother-in-law Jackie Libbert, aunts, uncles, cousins, family, friends, and special angel Natalie Timm, lung donor.

Johanna is survived by her husband of 35 years, Philip Libbert, being together for 41 years; her parents George and Betty Wangler of Richland; sister Stephanie Altmeyer of Richland; father-in-law Robert Libbert of Boonville; sister-in-law Laura (Dennis) Batts of Boonville; niece Rachael (Sean) Barnhill of Boonville; nephews Zach Altmeyer of Richland, Andrew (Haley) Altmeyer of Boonville, Jonathan (Kandace) Batts of Boonville, and Cameron (Megan) Batts of Boonville; and many great-nieces and -nephews.

Services for Johanna will take place at St. Rupert Catholic Church, Newburgh, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, with Father Jack Durchholz officiating the Mass. A visitation will take place at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, Rockport, on Wednesday, July 24, from 4 until 8 p.m. and also 9 a.m. till the time of service at St. Rupert Catholic Church July 25.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the CF Foundation, Smile On Down Syndrome, Chemo Buddies, St Rupert Cemetery, or St. Clement Parish.
