Judith Roberta Harris was born April 14, 1941 in Centerville, the daughter of David and Earlidean (Trinkle) Harris. She attended Chrisney High School, Chrisney.
To Judy’s first marriage she had three children: Ellsworth “Sonny”, Kathy and Cheryl. She later was united in marriage with Royal Johnson on October 1, 1994 in Mariah Hills. Judy had worked as a waitress most of her life and met Royal, the love of her life, while working at the 231 Truck Stop in Dale. Together they spent the last 29 years living in West Liberty.
She was a member of Cedar Valley United Methodist Church in West Liberty, T.O.P.S in Iowa City and Cedar Valley Community Club. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her indoor and outdoor flowers, reading, cleaning, thrifting, collectibles and was a proud homemaker. She was a very kind, special and giving person.
Survivors include her husband, Royal Johnson of West Liberty; five children, Ellsworth “Sonny” (Tammy) Roach III of Gentryville, Kathy L. Rivera of Dale, Cheryl Ketcham of Rockport, Barbara (Dick) Kaalberg of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and LeAnn (Rick) Smith of Lime City, Iowa; four siblings, Carol Hood of Cahokia, Illinois, Nancy Crowe of Richland, Bill Harris of Evansville and P.K. Harris of Chrisney; grandchildren, Jay, Tiffany, Kristin, Andrea, Lindsay, Josh, Dustin, Adrienne, Ashley, Lauren, Alyssa, Shannen, Kaitlyn and Sara, as well as many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers; a son, Dave Johnson; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Smith.
A graveside service will take place, Tuesday November 28, at Zion Centerville Cemetery, Chrisney. Service time is 1 p.m., Boultinghouse Funeral Home will be handling the service. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.BoultinghouseFuneralHome.com.
